The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP 2009, the 16th in the series that has been held annually since 1994, will bring together leading engineers and scientists in image and video processing from around the world. Research frontiers in fields ranging from traditional image processing applications to evolving multimedia and video technologies are regularly advanced by results first reported in ICIP technical sessions. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Paper Submission

Prospective authors are invited to submit extended summaries of not more than four (4) pages including results, figures and references. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission through the conference web site.

Special Sessions

Special Sessions proposals should be submitted by December 15, 2008, to Prof. Sheila Hemami and Prof. Moumen Elmelegy at the conference web site. Proposals for special sessions must include a topical title, rationale, session outline, contact information for the session chair(s), a list of authors who have agreed to present a paper in the session, and a tentative title and abstract of each paper. In addition, each special session should include a tutorial-type introductory presentation to be given at the start of the special session.

Tutorials

Tutorials will be held on Satuday, November 7, 2009. Brief proposals should be submitted by January 23, 2009, to Prof. Eli Saber and Prof. David Taubman at the conference web site. Proposal for tutorials must include a title, an outline of the tutorial and its motivation, a two-page CV of the presenter(s), and a short description of the material to be covered.
